Cahier III
Cahier no. III
Creating wealth, delivering health
Value creation in life sciences and health
High Profile Group, April & November 2009 meetings
In Cahier no. I the HPG introduced itself and her members. In Cahier no. II the HPG outlined a vision for the life sciences and health sector. This vision formed the basis for the ‘Health’ chapter included in the ‘Partners in the Polder’ book which took a broader view and also included the sectors agro, food and chemicals.
Based on this vision the HPG wants to take a next step: concerted action. In Cahier no. III titled ‘Creating wealth, delivering health’ the opportunities to further improve value creation in the life sciences and health sector in Netherlands are explored.
We believe translating these opportunities into results is only possible by close collaboration between the numerous stakeholders in the field and by informing each other about our initiatives and progress in our actions. Achieving such collaboration and coordination in value creation activities in the life sciences and health is exactly the aim of this Cahier.
The actions to grasp opportunities are clustered in four broad categories that directly impact the process of creating value from scientific knowledge:
- human capital,
- financial resources,
- regulation & reimbursement,
- collaboration.
We have included running actions known to us from a number of organisations active in the life sciences and health sector, and identified possible additional actions.
On the 10th of June at the BioBusiness Event in Almere we invite you to join forces to further strengthen the Dutch life sciences and health sector. Questions to discuss here are: Which important topics and running actions have we missed? Which actions are you involved in and how can we align our joint efforts? A detailed program will be presented later. For more information on and registration for this event, please visit www.biobusinessevent.nl.
